BACKGROUND
Chester-Le-Street United was formed to create a pathway for players at Park View Academy of Sport to enhance opportunities that lead to professional football.
The club was formed by John Gamble and Lewis Pendleton to create a pathway for our academy, initially the Under 19 programme.
Having ran the Under 19 programme playing age group football competing in National Leagues and winning these competitions it was felt that in order to give players the best possible pathway into professional football was to expose to senior football as a group playing against men. We, therefore, have evolved our third-year programme into playing senior football.
THE STRUCTURE
You will be PAID a WEEKLY WAGE to train and play for Chester-Le-Street United & Park View Academy of Sport.
Players will train FULL TIME, this is key to the progression into playing at a HIGHER LEVEL. By coming away from age group football where academy games are on a Wednesday we are able to run a programme with double sessions that aim to PEAK ON A WEEKEND.

(STEP 6)
Players will have the opportunity to play for the FIRST TEAM or the reserves depending upon ability and their playing time.
You will have the option to train during the DAY OR ON AN EVENING to accommodate the pathway you choose with regards to your EDUCATION OR WORKING COMMITMENTS alongside your football.
Our programme is a FULL TIME TRAINING MODEL that seeks to provide a pathway into playing PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL, or at the very least to push players to play at a HIGH LEVEL, HOME OR ABROAD.

We are partnered with HUDDERSFIELD TOWN having a formal professional link with the club. Our relationship is with the Academy Director (who runs the B Team) and the Head of Recruitment for the club. Huddersfield Town became the first professional club to come away from the EPPP system at under 16.
Huddersfield Town has an under 18 team made up of Under 17 players. An Under 19 team made up of Under 18s and a B Team made up of Under 19-23s. Huddersfield Town is looking to SIGN PLAYERS who are ready to play first-team football within 12 months.
We are following the Huddersfield Town performance programme for football led by their academy director and sports science teams.
The players in our academy play for Chester-Le-Street United's first team who is developing a reputation for PRODUCING GOOD YOUNG PLAYERS, PLAYING ATTRACTIVE FOOTBALL. Having a club that is made up of youth players who train at our academy allows boys to train full-time, mirroring the structure of a professional football club. Playing against senior players stretches our young footballers.
By having a weekend games programme it creates opportunities to organise SHOWCASE GAMES against PROFESSIONAL CLUBS to put players in the shop window and to organise regular training ground visits with Huddersfield to take part in situational training. Our emphasis is on getting players to play professional football using Chester-Le-Street United as a vehicle to progress to a higher level.
SHOWCASE GAMES
As part of the pathway, you will play regular games against academies as the northern league midweek schedule subsides. This creates a perfect pathway for you to develop as a player by playing and training at an intense level in the early part of the season, as we head towards Christmas we will organise more games against academies as you have physically developed providing you with the best possible chance of progressing your career. We are founding partners with VEO being the first academy in the UK to use the VEO recording system. We have access to the latest cameras and technology as well as having a dedicated analyst who produces video clips.
We are partners with Perform Better who have created our bespoke strength and conditioning facilities. We have a bespoke s and c facility with world class equipment equivalent to that of a premier league club.
Every players wears a heart rate monitor and GPS vest for training every day and games, these are linked to live data which is monitored by our Sports Scientist. We monitor player loads and use this data to create player packs to send out to clubs.
INTERNATIONAL TOURS
This year our players have received a FREE TRIP abroad as we have accessed national agency funding.
We play in Milan against Serie A and Serie B teams.
We have had tours of Thailand and tours of Croatia previously these tours have resulted in playing opportunities for our students to have the chance to play professionally abroad with offers from clubs such as:

The degree is a flexible programme for those looking to progress into HE. it allows you to stop after one year or continue at your own time and pace. Delivered on-site by professional HE tutors from UCS. This course is ideal for those looking to forge a career in the sports industry.
You can access FULL STUDENT FINANCE for this course and a MAINTENANCE LOAN from student finance which covers the cost of your course fees and your ACCOMMODATION. A student loan is repayable once you start to earn £27,295 per year. Delivered on-site 1 day per week.

We train at the Washington hub and the Riverside at Chester-Le-Street having access to outstanding 4G PITCHES & HIGH-QUALITY GRASS PITCHES. Our home ground has been ground graded by the FA and will house 20m high floodlights creating an atmosphere for night time games.
