After calling a halt to the various cup competitions last season due to the atrocious weather conditions calling off so many games, The Ebac Northern League Management Committee have reinstated the competitions for the 2024/25 season.
So, it's to Esh Winning on a cold Tuesday night in December that United find themselves travelling to face one of Division 2's hottest sides in the Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup.
Esh currently sit in 4th spot in the Division 2 table on 54 points from 24 games. Their record is won 17 drew 3 lost 4 scored 59 conceded 24. Charlie Twinn being their top scorer with 10 league goals.
Back on August 13th Esh came to The Ford Hub to face United in a League game and came away with a 2 - 0 win. Twinn netting alongside ex-Chester-le-Street United Reserves player Benji Jackson
Esh go into the game on a six-match unbeaten run including three wins in their last three games with their last two being a 5 - 1 home win over Sunderland West End and an impressive 4 - 1 away win at Thornaby last Saturday.
United on the other hand have now lost their last three games albeit all close affairs and against sides in the top six including League leaders Horden whom they lost to 3 - 2 on Saturday.
It'll be another tough game for United as they look to get back to winning ways and progress to Round 2. Kick-off at The WindowsPlusRoofs Arena is at 7:30pm.
