Given a fair wind and drying conditions then United should be on the road once again as they look to consolidate and even improve their play-off intentions. Essity Park, Prudhoe the destination, Newcastle University the opposition.
However, one eye has to be cast upwards as The Uni had their Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup Tie at home against Blyth Town postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. So, watch this space!
If the game does go-ahead it will be a chance for United to record a League double over The Uni. Back in very early September last year United defeated Newcastle 3 - 1.
Penalties from Stephen Siyanbola and Nathan Conroy as well as a Reyhan Grimaud being United's scorers in a comeback win after James Kelly had given Uni a half-time lead.
Since then Newcastle University have gone on to have a solid if not spectacular season that currently sees them lying in 16th place in the table with 37 points from 32 games. They have games in hand on most of the teams around them.
They have won 9 drawn 10 and lost 13 of their league fixtures scoring 49 goals with 19 different scorers and conceding 54. Top scorer is Dominic Griffin with 7 and Stephen Pennington and Matty Foster both have 6 each.
For United the mission is simple. A win and 3 points a must to keep them in the play-off race. With Ryton & Crawcrook drawing with Esh Winning and Thornaby losing to Sunderland West End in midweek they need to take advantage.
United have had a tough time in their last three games. Being knocked out of both Northern League Cup competitions and losing 3 - 2 at home to Jarrow last Saturday after being two-nil up. They need to arrest that run as soon as they can.
