Seven wins and a draw in United's last eight games have seen them rise to eight position in The League table. Their opponents currently sit in 19th with 3 wins, 7 draws and 9 defeats. It all points to an away win. Or does it?
A closer look at Boldon's record shows that those 3 wins have come in their last five games including an impressive 5 - 2 home win over Darlington Town and a 2 - 0 away win at Chester-le-Street Town.
So, United must guard against a C.A. side that are clearly on the up and like United heading in the right direction. Boldon have been buoyed in recent weeks with a new Management Team that have shaken up the squad.
Several changes have been made and the new Management structure seems to have stabilised a Club that was really struggling early on this season. It makes them really dangerous opponents at 'The Villa' and United must guard against complacency.
For United last week saw Harley Lawton and Brandon Young return from injury to add depth and quality to their squad. They've further improved that by adding a new signing this week to the mix.
18-year-old striker Dominic Hughes has arrived from NL Division 1 side Birtley Town and goes straight into the squad for today's game. United's management liked what they saw of Dominic's ability in training and decided to initiate the transfer.
Adding more firepower to the squad at a time when the form is good and results excellent is a positive progress move from The Club and one that United hopes brings rewards in both the now and the future.
