Two days after a hard fought 1 - 1 Boxing Day Derby encounter with Chester-le-Street Town on a brute of a pitch, United are on their travels to a new venue and a 3G surface.
They take on Ebac Northern League rookies Darlington Town at the Eastbourne Community Stadium looking to complete a League double. Back in September at The Ford Quarry Hub it was a Michael Mallaburn goal that gave United a 1 - 0 win.
Darlington Town are the highest place of all the 'new' teams in Division 2 this season sitting in 14th place. They've played 27 Won 8 Drawn 7 and Lost 12. They've scored 44 goals and conceded 56 for a total of 32 points.
They've had a mixed bag of results recently. In their last seven games played they've won 2 drawn 1 and lost 2 in The League. Losing at Thornaby 2 - 0 on Boxing Day in their latest game
In the two cups they knocked out First Division Newcastle Blue Star on the road in the Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup on penalties after a 0 - 0 draw but then crashed out of the Ernest Armstrong Cup 4 - 1 at home to FC Hartlepool.
Players United will have to look out for are James Beauchamp who has 7 league goals to his credit, James Wilson who has 6 and Mason Hurworth who has 5. Top scorer Liam Jarvie who had 12 early in the season is now at Newton Aycliffe.
The game in Darlington is an earlier 1:30pm kick off as United go looking for their fourth consecutive positive League result in a row after three wins and a draw on their travels so far through December.
