It's a first ever visit for Chester-le-Street United to The B & W Lifting Stadium, Grangetown, Middlesbrough home of Ebac Northern League Division 2 rookies Grangetown Boys Club on Saturday.
United were beaten 3 - 0 in midweek in the Durham County FA 'Frank Pattison' Challenge Cup away to Vanarama National League North Spennymoor Town. That ended United's interest in all cup competitions for the 2024/25 season.
So, it's back to League duties for a United side currently sitting in 9th place on 25 points after 8 wins, 1 draw and 8 losses in their 17 games so far. Their current league form making good reading as they've won 5 and drawn 1 of their last six.
Their opponents 'Boysie' as they are commonly known have found life tough in the Ebac Northern League but have shown in recent times that they may be coming to terms with the demands of the step-up from the North Riding League.
They are currently 19th in the table having won 4 drawn 3 and lost 11 scoring 21 goals and conceding 36 giving them 15 points so far. At home they won 2 drawn 1 and lost 6.
Their leading scorer is Liam Southall with 4 with whilst Aaron Bell, Jonny Squires and Dylan Gnalgo all have 3. One impressive stat 'Boysie' do have is an average home crowd of 288 with over 2.500 fans having come through their turnstiles.
Kick-Off at The B & W Lifting Stadium is at the usual Saturday time of 15:00pm.
