We go in to November and out halfway point in the League in tremendous form as we’re now unbeaten in our last 9 games with 8 wins and a draw. If there was a Manager of the Month Award for October then surely Micky Nelson would have won it!
Last weekend was a tough, tough game at Boldon CA but the lads showed real resilience and togetherness to tough out an excellent 2 – 1 away win. But we can't be complacent and must keep this form and results going.
The play-offs are not beyond us but we need to remain focused on one game at a time and see where that gets us. We're without one or two through suspension and unavailability. It has to be a 'next-man-up' attitude for all today.
Our opponents today Redcar Town are just above the relegation places at the moment in 16th place in the table but we know there are no easy games in this Division and we're expecting a tough one again today.
Redcar have won 5 drawn 6 and lost 9 of their 20 games so far scoring 36 goals and conceding 37 for 21 points. They are currently on a run of 8 points from their last 6 games in the Form Table.
Top marksman so far for Redcar is midfielder Connor Smith with 7 goals but they have just lost striker Carl Williams to Bedlington so that might help us out today.
But if there’s any doubting how tough a game this is you just need to cast an eye to midweek. Town played Division 2 leaders Yarm & Eaglescliffe away in the North Riding Cup on Tuesday.
After finishing as a 2 – 2 draw in 90 minutes they put the table toppers out 3 – 0 on penalties. That shows just how any team in this division can get a result against any other on the day.
