The club are very proud to announce that we have been recognised by England Football as a three-star Accredited club.
Three-star accreditation is only given to clubs that demonstrate full and genuine pathways for boys' football, girls' football and football for children with disabilities as well as delivering the very highest standards of planning, administration and inclusion.
Youth section Chairman Phil Cummings commented on the award:
"We have worked tirelessly to build the club up to where we are now, underpinned by core values about equality and inclusion and with a real desire to have a club that has genuine pathways. The accreditation demonstrates this and I have to say thank you to Durham FA whose staff have supported us all the way.
It's a great achievement and nice for all our youth coaches and young players that we do things the right way here and to have the recognition from England Football is great"
Men's Chairman Lewis Pendleton remarked:
"It's fitting recognition for all the hard work and effort put into the club week in the week by over 100 volunteers. When we have boys aged 16, 17, and 18 playing in the 1st team in the Northern League and playing the Wearside League it shows our pathways are real."
Women's Chair David Taylor summed up the award:
"It's great news, and I know it's been hard work to achieve - this season we have had girls coming up from the U16s and U17s playing in the first team and doing excellently."
This news is just the beginning of the good news we have coming up this month so stay tuned for more!
