North East Regional Women's Northern Division - Sunday 9th March 2025 Chester-le-Street United 5 v 0 Redcar Town
Chester-Le-Street United delivered a commanding performance against Redcar Town, securing a 5-0 victory that showcased their dominance from start to finish.
The match, held at their home ground, The Riverside, saw Chester-le-Street United exhibit excellent ball movement and maintain high intensity throughout.
The first half concluded with a 1-0 lead, but the hosts escalated their efforts in the second half, adding four more goals.
First Half:
From the outset, Chester-Le-Street United asserted their control over the game, demonstrating fluid passing that kept Redcar Town on the defensive.
Their midfield orchestrated play effectively, distributing the ball wide to stretch the opposition. The breakthrough came midway through the first half when Beth Enguita found the back of the net, capitalising on a well-placed through ball.
Despite creating several more opportunities, the home side went into the break with a one-goal advantage.
Second Half:
The second half saw Chester-le-Street United intensify their attacking efforts. Lily West doubled the lead shortly after the restart.
The team's relentless pressure led to a third goal, Poppy Alderson following in well to finish from close range.
The fourth and fifth goals were scored by Lily West to complete a deserved hat trick.
The visitors struggled to cope with the sustained pressure and were unable to mount any significant counter-attacks.
