United Plan Blue Star Test To Prepare For New Season

Planning continues at pace for the newly promoted Chester-le-Street United. They are aware that the forthcoming season in the EBAC Northern League Second Division is going to be a challenging and tough one.


They are hoping to play some quality and testing pre-season fixtures to ready themselves for will be a demanding schedule to follow. United are therefore delighted to announce their first agreed game.


They will travel to Denton Road, Scotswood, home of Newcastle Blue Star of the Northern Alliance League on Monday 18th July for a 7:30pm kick-off. Blue Star narrowly missed out on promotion to The NL2 themselves and will represent a competitive fixture for Chester.


Having just missed out on promotion themselves Blue Star are already starting to build a strong squad for their forthcoming season. A season where their aim is firmly set on winning the Northern Alliance League and achieving a much sought after promotion.


They have laid the ground stones by appointing a brand-new Management Team who are committed to rising this famous Club back to former glories.


Former South Shields assistant manager Brian Smith joins as first team manager with playing experience at Whitley Bay, North Shields, Ashington and Blyth Spartans. Smith knows United Head Coach John Gamble well.


He will be joined by ex Maidstone United player and former Whitley Bay assistant manager Steve Cuggy and Andy Bowman former assistant manager of North Shields. A triple appointment that clearly shows Blue Star's intent for the season.
